Who is Higher Health Acupuncture?

My name is Pete, and I run my own acupuncture clinic here in the centre of Worthing on Saturdays. Just a five minute walk from Worthing’s mainline train station, and a stone’s throw from the beach. My belief is that no matter at what level we perceive our own health to be, there is always room for improvement.

How does acupuncture work?

Mannequin Worthing acupuncture clinic, showing the acupuncture channels running through the head, neck, shoulder, and torso.

Acupuncture originates from China dating back over 2,000 years. Health is dependent on the body’s vital life force, known as Qi, to move in a smooth and balanced way through a series of channels inside the body. This can be disturbed by any number of reasons, including hereditary factors; emotional states such as anxiety, anger, or grief, and trauma; and physical causes such as poor diet, intoxicants, insufficient sleep, overwork, environment and infections. When Qi is unbalanced, stagnant or deficient, illness often results.

Acupuncture works to maintain the body’s equilibrium by focusing on all aspects of wellbeing; both physically and mentally. The aim is to stimulate the body’s own healing to restore its natural balance through the insertion of very fine acupuncture needles at chosen ‘energy’ (Qi) points along the channels. Acupuncture works by aiming the treatment at the root of your condition, as well as at your symptoms. To find out more about acupuncture in general, please visit ATCM
